New World-class Phuket Venue Opens with Familiarisation Trips for Qualified Buyers

PHUKET, THAILAND – Asia’s newest world-class sporting and corporate event venue – the Phuket International Academy Sports and Leisure Club (PIASLC) – is offering qualified sporting event planners and tour operators attending the World Sports Destination Expo (WSDE) the chance to be invited to the complex for familiarisation meetings with the academy’s executives.

The USD45 million complex is set on 54 acres of land in the north-eastern region of Phuket, Thailand, boasts an extensive array of high-class sporting facilities including an International Rugby Board-standard rugby pitch, FIFA-approve Limonta soccer field, Phuket’s only competition standard 50-metre swimming pool, a six court tennis academy, a 500 metre athletics running track and a StarTrac equipped hi-tech gymnasium, as well as a dedicated arts centre and a Thai Herbal Garden Spa to compliment the sports facilities.

PIASLC General Manager, Sean Panton, said the WSDE was the first global event the club has attended to present facilities to event planners and ensure they have access to the complex.

He added that any events booked during the WSDE would also receive a full 15% across-the-board discount for all their Meeting and Food and Beverage requirements.

“If qualified buyers have a genuine interest in Asia and bringing events to the Phuket International Academy Sports and Leisure Club, then we are happy to meet them with a view of hosting them at the club and presenting the facilities we have to offer,” Mr Panton said on the eve of the WSDE.

“Sales kits and presentation DVD’s don’t do full justice to what we have accomplished in Phuket and aside from the island being an excellent destination for all manner of sporting and corporate events, we have left no detail to chance.

“We are in the right place, in the right region and with the Phuket International Airport expanding and providing more direct international air links, we are confident our venue is going to become very popular, very quickly.
