Rio de Janeiro is the latest big name to confirm their participation in World Sport Destination Expo - the global market place for sport tourism. WSDE is uniquely co-located alongside the climatic final week of the 2010 FIFA World Cup and will offer bidding nations and sport tourism capitals the optimum opportunity to showcase their capabilities on a world stage.
World Sport Destination Expo (WSDE), the global market place for sport tourism, has announced it has formed a content partnership with SportBusiness Group, the world’s leading supplier of information, media and B2B marketing services to the sports industry. The deal will see SportBusiness create an education programme to run alongside WSDE and provide content for the event programme bringing its editorial expertise to the world’s first sport destination exhibition.
The United Nations World Tourism Organization’s secretary-general Taleb Rifai this week insisted sporting events such as FIFA World Cup 2010 and the London Olympics 2012 can act as catalysts to revive the ailing global travel and tourism industry.
